Maybe they’ll prove me wrong, but I think this is a good example of a bad line extension.  Do you really think people buy a Mini (Clubman or not) because they want MORE space?  Pour some water in my “brand coffee”…
UPDATE 3/30/08: At time of posting, I did not realize that there was an original Mini Clubman, along with a Countryman, in the 1960’s that had a similarly elongated body to the current Clubman.  Reviving the past is not nearly as bad as adding meaningless line extensions, but I still feel that they are walking a fine line with their branding.
